“Wait Until Dark” (1967)

05 May

You know the kind of scary movie where you scream at the characters to pay attention cause there’s someone that’s gonna get ’em? Wait Until Dark is just that kind of movie! My school friends and I were lucky enough to view this film when it first came out. It scared the popcorn right out our boxes and left us quaking afterwards!

Wait Until Dark has a solid cast. Audrey Hepburn plays Suzy, a blind woman who becomes the target of violent thugs as they search for heroin. Alan Arkin is cruelly perfect as one of those thugs. Richard Crenna and Jack Weston fill out the rest. The notable score by Henry Mancini races right along with you throughout this suspenseful thriller.

That’s all I’m gonna say now…you’ll just have to get the movie. Then you can find out more details @ IMDb. Let me know if you like it.

This is one the of last movies Audrey did before retiring in Rome–my favorite fun fact about ‘Wait Until Dark” is that when it played in cinemas, all the lights were dimmed as AH smashed all the lights in the film–creepy!
